I don't know of any periodontists using lasers. There probably are,
though.
Please note that these "techniques" were developed by the principals of
the laser company. I have no idea if they are specialists, but I would
think if they were, it would say so.
I have heard claims that laser surgery is less painful than traditional
periodontal surgery. However, this page doesn't even refer to the
treatment as "surgery" which of course it is. But if they are just
removing a few cell layers, it is almost certain that they are not
addressing the bony defects that lie under the gum. So while this tool
may have some uses for superficial periodontal disease, there is no
explanation as to how this can possibly be a substitute for periodontal
surgery involving osseous recontouring and/or grafting. Maybe it could
be a substitute for a curettage. I wonder if it's more expensive than
curettage? Hmmmm....

Default Opinions on Laser Periodontal Treatment?

I found this site:

http://tlc4gums.com/

It claims that this laser treatment is so much
better than the traditional gum surgery.

I'm wondering if there are any professional
opinions on this.....

Thanks.
