Braggart. We're not all rich enough to afford the 2K upgrade.

Aren't you happy that RAM has become so cheap? No need to fuss with
emm386.exe anymore!

Not really, and itīs not so much a matter of DOS but of the addressing
of memory. 16 segments (0 to F) of each 64 KB gives the 1 MB to be
addressed in real mode by the corresponding cpu registers (by
"DWORDS"=32 bit= two registers, one of them being a segment register
(CS, DS, ES)). Usually the first ten segments (0 to 9) are free for use
by the system, while at segment 11 (A000:0) begins the graphic memory;
segment 13 (C000:0) is reserved for Video Bios and 16 (F000:0) for
System BIOS. Thereīs limited space free from around C800:0 to E000:FFFF,
where 64 KB can be used to mirror extended memory (as managed by
emm386.exe), the remaining space in this range being usable by small
programs or to save system variables. Things are somewhat different now
in "protected mode", in which the current operating systems are running
the machine.

Momory of 128, 256 then 512.

Of course DOS limits memory addressing to 640K.
