We had a pharmacology instructor, a very nice Dutchman, a physician named Norbert Overweg. He would repeat things over and over to make sure we got it. | Since it's been 25 years and no instructors that I had are still teaching (and many aren't even alive)... Our biochem instructor sounded like Foster Brooks and our pathology instructor had such an Asian accent that he was almost impossible to understand ("ensparrred allwheeolar are"...Dan can translate to English). The occlusion instructor had no clue. Endo wasn't much better. Crown & bridge, operative, and oral surgery were generally quite good. Psychological Aspects of Dentistry.....now that was some course! | Education is a problem all over the US. My pet theory is that the Xerox machine is the culprit! Every instructor makes up their own syllabus instead of following the clearly-defined book! | I last had it about 8-10 years ago. (20 years post DS). I think the trick to dental school is to find out very early which instructors are the biggest PITA.
