| Well, I wouldn't say they're trying to recapture their youth. Most of them are still performing, have recorded and glad they're still around in their 60s and 70s. And not really hippies anymore; the years have a way of straightening us out and most of our group is just raising families and hoping their kids don't do the drugs that they did. It's a very cohesive group that has stayed in touch for 40 years and enjoy getting together to jam and talk. They do see each other in between the reunion. However, in line with what you're saying, at every reunion there is always an element of wanting to go back to a more carefree time and one's mind plays tricks when they see old friends in a new context. It's a deja vu back and forth kind of mind trip. D45...hmmm, I'd kill for one. Or an old Gibson. Have 2 Martins but not the same as the old guys which I've played. | Hi, I actually play everything BUT the banjo :-) The reason I never got a banjo is because it's very loud and living in an apartment building, it can annoy neighbors. I'm still working on getting better on guitar; this house looks like a music store. Actually, with these jack-o-lantern teeth, I'd make a good hillbilly, banjo, corn cob pipe, overalls, what a sight. You do remember me with an old name, I think I sent you a music website and we talked about guitars. My old name was Fran, dude to you, I think I have been on here for about 3 years on and off. Yes, Steve has been great as always. I have lost teeth but losing 11 has been different, I guess men feel the same but being a woman, it's traumatic. We're all vain and that's okay. I know you and all of the others here see people freak out when it's a visible tooth. Thanks for the good wishes. I'm not wearing the flipper until the gum heals over. Old story, people who know me, know and people who don't, I don't care what I look like. Just want to heal and be comfortable. | Actually caught up on your posts and was sorry to hear about the loss of #11. But considering your symptoms and aggravation, it may have been for the best. S. Bornfeld has been giving good advice as always, and the regs never fail to chime in with a good hint or two. Best wishes, and just give it some time to heal. Then you can mull over your restorative options. It doesn't have to cost a fortune to restore function, and at least a bit of esthetics in the process. BTW, do you actually play the banjo ?
